Using the Basic Search Feature to Locate Items in the Library's Catalog
Search Hints:
Keyword Search - assumes you want all the words you entered to be in the area you specified in the drop-down menu. For instance:
- Anywhere in Record - will find the words you have entered in titles, author names, subject headings or chapter titles that describe your topic.
- Title Keyword - use this feature to find words that might be in a title on your chosen topic.
- Author (last name first) - use this feature if you know exactly who you're looking up.
- Subject - these are words that are a part of the Library of Congress's authorized subject headings (i.e. English Literature or World War, etc.)
