Birth Certificate Index  This index currently covers 1900-1934, supplemented with about 2700 pre-1900 records.

Death Certificate Index  Death certificates are covered from 1908 - 2001, supplemented with death cards from 1904 - 1907.

Minnesota State Census Index  This index covers Minnesota State Census records from 1865, 1875, 1885, 1895 and 1905.

Veterans Graves Registration  This database indexes the veterans Graves Registration reports from 1927 - 1969.  It is not a list of all veterans ever buried in Minnesota.

Photo and Art Database  Information about photographs, artwork, posters, and fine art photographs from the collections of the Minnesota Historical Society are included in this database.  Over 192,000 objects have been entered.  Over 126,000 of those have a corresponding digital image. 

Minnesota Place Names  This site provides quick access to the stories behind the names (like Mankato, Blue Earth County, Minneapolis, etc.)

Minnesota History    A lively, richly illustrated magazine published quarterly by the Minnesota Historical Society Press.  Each issue offers a variety of topics drawn from more than 150 years of state and regional history. 

Duluth Lynchings  The Duluth Lynching site provides an opportunity to remember and learn from this tragic incident in Minnesota history.

Minnesota History Topics  A list of Minnesota-related topics to help you start out your research.  Resources are available through the Historical Society Library, located at the Minnesota History Center. 

Placeography  A website about any place anywhere in Minnesota that anyone can edit.

Directory of Minnesota Photographers  The directory provides biographical and historical information about commercial photographers and photographic studios. 

Civil War Research at the Minnesota Historical Society  The Minnesota Historical Society houses a diverse and surprisingly rich collection of information on the American Civil War. 

Governors of Minnesota  A site listing the governors of Minnesota, dates of office, and other information including their wives. 

Family History Resources and Research  This online Family History Resources guide provides hot links into the MNPALS catalog or elsewhere on the Minnesota Historical Society website, and occassionally to other websites.   This guide can take you directly to often hard-to-find entries in the online catalog.
